For Marvin Dallas, Louisville was the perfect fit in more ways than one.

I'll be there for spring ball. I'm just ready to get everything done so I can be up there with my new family. I'm ready. I'm ready to be in that competition.
~Marvin Dallas

Marvin Dallas, a heralded defensive prospect who signed with Louisville on Wednesday, is already an accomplished college football player. A hybrid linebacker-safety, Dallas is the type of versatile athlete who fits the multi-faceted modern schematic standard. His range comes with options, the type of interchangeability current defenses need to match more wide-open spread attacks. Dallas joins the Cardinals from Georgia Military College, ranked as the number one outside linebacker from the junior college ranks.

A next-level prototype, in some respects, Dallas, clocked at 4.67 in the forty yard dash, was an accomplished football star and a state-level track standout during his prep career at Glynn Academy in Brunswick, Georgia. He excelled at, among other events, the 300-meter hurdles and high jump. The athletic profile Dallas brings to Louisville comes with impressive upside and potential; he won't just play, but make plays as well.

For Dallas, Louisville was the perfect fit in more ways than one.

"When I went there for a visit, there was a lot of love from the players and fans. It was just that love and the atmosphere that made me commit," he shared. "Not just football, it's about family too. They take care of their kids and that's what I want."

More experienced than a traditional incoming  true freshman, Dallas, enrolling in January, is better prepared for what awaits after a productive stop at Georgia Military College, one of the premier junior college programs in the country, one that has sent many players to programs in the ACC, SEC and beyond. Dallas signed with Louisville as one of the most highly-touted JUCO prospects nationally. He will have the opportunity to make his presence felt right away.

Though a newcomer, Dallas will bring a veteran mentality to the Cardinals. He is excited and appreciative alike.

"Being at GMC taught me a lot. You have to respect life and what you have because not all people can say they went through JUCO and did this, because JUCO is hard. You just have to have a strong mindset to go through with it," he added. "It made me realize how much I have in life."

A rising star in the college football ranks, soon to debut at the game's highest level, Dallas has already made an impact.

"When I signed with GMC, it was a blessing because I'm the first to go to college in my family," he shared.

What is next is an extension of what Dallas has worked towards for years. Led by head coach Scott Satterfield, Louisville is one of the hottest programs in the country, one trending upward after a surprising and successful season. Dallas is part of the Cardinals' next progression. Fresh off positive momentum both on the field and off, he is poised for continued growth at Louisville. Signed and settled, Dallas is ready for more.

"I'll be there for spring ball. I'm just ready to get everything done so I can be up there with my new family," he added. "I'm ready. I'm ready to be in that competition."

Dallas has already made a name for himself. He, next to Louisville, is still coming.
