Back in the national spotlight after a game for the record books, Derrius Guice will lead the Tigers into Tuscaloosa.

Last weekend, LSU running back Derrius Guice had one of the greatest rushing performances of the college football season: 22 carries for 276 yards in a 40-24 win at Ole Miss. It was a breakout showing from Guice, who was absolutely unstoppable against the Rebels. With the effort, he became the first player in SEC history to top the 250-yard mark in three separate games in a career.

Next up for the Tigers and their now-healthy star tailback, a road trip north to take on undefeated Alabama -- and a chance to make a statement.

The Crimson Tide are leading the nation in rush defense for the third-consecutive year and have allowed just two touchdowns on the ground this fall. Five of Alabama's eight opponents, to date, did not reach 65 yards rushing, with Arkansas running 29 times for 27 yards. Going back to early October of 2013, the Crimson Tide have held their last 33 foes to less than four yards per carry, with no offense topping 150 yards in that span.

Guice, last season, didn't get many opportunities against Alabama. He ran just two times for eight yards in a contest where LSU was shutout. In their last seven tries in the series, the Tigers have averaged only 10.2 points per game. The last LSU running back to top the 100-yard mark versus the Crimson Tide was Jeremy Hill in 2012.

Back in the national spotlight after a game for the record books, Guice will lead the Tigers into Tuscaloosa for a primetime challenge against the nation's best. His talents will both be on display and put to the test.
