It appears like Jeremy Pruitt has figured out how best to use the defensive talent that he has at his disposal.

The Bulldogs consistently brought pressure from all over the field, particularly from Damian Swann who forced a fumble on one of his blitzes. Brandon Allen stopped looking down field at open receivers and was forced to focus on the various blitz packages. This allows Georgia to get away with occasionally poor coverage and allows the secondary to try to jump passes and make aggressive plays on the ball.

2. Arkansas’ secondary, similar to Georgia’s (although not the past two weeks), is the weak link on an otherwise solid team. From the Bulldogs’ very first offensive play, the Razorbacks corners were biting on play actions and double moves and generally leaving receivers open all over the field. Arkansas was prepared for a knock down, drag out fight, not the finesse style that Georgia came out with. After being shredded by Hutson Mason, the Razorbacks were forced to drop off a little bit, allowing Nick Chubb to get large chunks of yardage multiple times.

3. Arkansas did a despicable job of protecting the football. The Razorbacks turned the ball over four times and it could have been worse. The ball was on the turf, up for grabs, on two other occasions and there were a couple of dropped potential interceptions, as well. Oftentimes, the turnover margin will tell the story of the game. This was no exception.

4. This Georgia team has handled adversity, in regards to the Todd Gurley situation, with as much poise as could be asked of these young men. There were a lot of different ways this team could have responded to losing its best player. The Bulldogs handled it better than anyone expected. How often does a team lose the best player in the country and then go on the road two weeks in a row and put together two dominating performances? The odds were stacked against Georgia, but the Bulldogs haven’t even been phased.

5. Hutson Mason just told all the people calling for his job to sit down and shut up. He’s too polite to say it aloud so he said it with his play. The fifth year senior threw for 179 yards and two touchdowns. Plus, he did all that with somewhat limited attempts since Georgia spent the second half running the ball in order to kill the clock. Will Mason be able to keep up the level of play he’s had these past two weeks?
