Texas A&M beats Florida 41-38 on a game-winning field goal as time expired.

1. After opening the season with a disappointing performance against Vanderbilt and a blowout loss to Alabama, Jimbo Fisher and Texas A&M needed a good showing against Florida. They got it. In a fun back-and-forth game, the Aggies made critical plays down the stretch: a fumble recovery by DeMarvin Leal, a third down conversion pass from Kellen Mond to Chase Lane to inside the redzone and a game-winning 25-yard field goal from Seth Small as time expired. A victory over the 4th ranked Gators is a big one for Fisher, Mond and the Aggies. Texas A&M earned the triumph in the afternoon’s most meaningful moments.

2. Quarterback Kellen Mond was great for the Aggies. He completed 24-of-34 passes for 264 yards and three touchdowns, tying the game late in the fourth quarter with a 51-yard touchdown pass to Caleb Chapman. Going up against Kyle Trask on the other side, Mond had one of the best games of his career. This performances gives he and his team major momentum moving forward.

3. Running back Isaiah Spiller is a big-time playmaker for Texas A&M and it was good to see him get 20+ touches. Spiller actually ran the football 26 times for 171 yards and two touchdowns, combing with Kellen Mond and Caleb Chapman to give the Aggie offense tremendous balance. Quite notably, Texas A&M is now 9-0 all-time when Spiller rushes for at least 75 yards.

4. What a breakout performance for receiever Caleb Chapman. After nine receptions for 151 yards and two touchdowns in a win over a top five team, consider him now introduced to all of college football. His 51-yard score late in the fourth quarter for the Aggies was one of the plays of the game. Chapman and Kellen Mond had great chemistry Saturday afternoon.

5. Albeit in a losing effort, it was another standout performance for Florida quarterback Kyle Trask. He completed 23-of-32 passes for 312 yards and four touchdowns, connecting with Kadarius Toney for two touchdowns and all-everything tight end Kyle Pitts for yet another score. On the other side of the line, the Gators have some work to do defensively.
