The Rebels beat Georgia 45-14 for their first SEC victory.

1. After close losses to Florida State and Alabama in games where Ole Miss had big early leads, the Rebels took out some frustrations on Georgia in Oxford. Ole Miss held a commanding 45-0 lead midway through the third quarter, having shell-shocked a nationally-ranked opponent, before cruising to a very convincing 45-14 victory. The Rebels won every facet of the football game, regaining some momentum for the remainder of their season after the two early defeats. It was a complete effort from Ole Miss, one that comes with considerable validation as well as the team has played, at times, this year. One thing continues to be clear: the Rebels can score in bunches.

2. The Ole Miss defense set the tone from the opening kickoff, holding the Bulldogs scoreless until the fourth quarter. Though Georgia compiled some late offensive production, the Rebels held talented freshman quarterback Jacob Eason to just 16-of-36 passing for 137 yards and scored on a first quarter pick-six. On the afternoon, Ole Miss limited the Bulldogs to just 4-of-16 on third down tries. It was a successful bounce-back performance for the Rebels defensively.

3. Ole Miss quarterback Chad Kelly had a great afternoon, watching the fourth quarter as the Rebels played with a big lead. Kelly was extremely efficient as he completed 18-of-24 passes for 282 yards and two touchdowns, adding 53 yards rushing and another score on the ground. Additionally, Kelly avoided any turnovers, which is a big key. On the whole, the passing game averaged an impressive eleven yards per attempt.

4. Tight end Evan Engram is having a huge senior season for Ole Miss. After six more receptions for 95 yards and a touchdown, he now has 26 catches for 397 yards and three scores this fall. Engram entered the weekend with the most grabs in the SEC. One of college football's toughest matchups, Engram has done it against some of the nation's top teams.

5. It was a bad game all of the way around for the Bulldogs, who struggled for any sort of consistency until late in the contest. You certainly hope Nick Chubb, who was sidelined with an ankle injury, is alright. Freshman running back Brian Herrien did impress with 78 yards and two touchdowns on eleven carries. Georgia must rebound quick ahead of a home showdown with Tennessee.
