With all due respect to those historic awards like the Heisman and Bednarik, here’s a more modern twist on the individual trophies.

(Previous editions: 2016| 2017| 2018)

The Tim Tebow Postgame SpeechAward:Ed Orgeron, LSU

Previous Winners: Demarcus Walker, Florida State (2016); Chad Lunsford, Georgia Southern (2017); Kirby Smart, Georgia (2018)

I wont include the video here, as its NSFW, but suffice it to say Coach O was reasonably excited after his Tigers beat Alabama in the Game of the Century (of the year). In an expletive laden tirade, he relayed to his team how they would beat Alabama on the recruiting trail, on the field, pretty much anytime they saw them, rounding things out with some strong feelings about the phrase croll Tided.

The Chris Davis Miracle Award:NKosi Perry & Mark Pope, Miami

Previous Winners: Josh Dobbs & Jauan Jennings, Tennessee (2016); Feleipe Franks & Tyrie Cleveland, Florida (2017); Jalen Hurts, Alabama (2018)

It wouldve been cooler if Miami had come back and won this game, but they nearly did, jump started by the momentum this gave them going into the half.

The Jadeveon Clowney Most Otherworldly TackleAward:Marlon Davidson, Auburn

Previous Winners: Jonathan Allen, Alabama (2016); Tre Lamar, Clemson (2017); Quinnen Williams, Alabama (2018)

The tackle and forced fumble was enough to at least warrant consideration here, but Derrick Browns recovery and subsequent return pushed it over the top. It was a great play regardless, but the fact that Brown tripped makes it legendary.

The Trent Richardson Put ‘Em On Skates Award:Kadarius Toney, Florida

Previous Winners: Eddie Jackson, Alabama (2016); Kadarius Toney, Florida (2017); D’Andre Swift, Georgia (2018)

Reclaiming his throne. This was only his second game back after missing about half the season due to injury. He might not have even been fully healthy, but those Vandy defenders feelings were clearly hurt after this one.

The Greg Jones Truck Stick Award:Joe Burrow, LSU

Previous Winners: Leonard Fournette, LSU (2016); Brittain Brown, Duke (2017); Qadree Ollison, Pitt (2018)

Take that, zebra.

The Calvin Johnson ‘Moss’ A Cat Award:Bryan Edwards, South Carolina

Previous Winners: Kyle Davis, Auburn (2016); Terry Godwin, Georgia (2017); KENDRICK ROGERS, Texas A&M (2018)

I still dont understand how that happened.

The Steve Spurrier Best Coaching Moment Award:Blake Anderson, Arkansas State

Previous Winners: Dan Mullen, Mississippi State (2016); Blake Anderson, Arkansas State (2017); Derek Mason, Vanderbilt & Dan Mullen, Florida (2018

Last year, Dan Mullen won this award for the second time. This year, Blake Anderson does. The Arkansas State head coach surprised his team ahead of the UNLV game early in the season, not long after his wife Wendy passed, following a hard fought battle with breast cancer. The Anderson family served as a beacon of inspiration for football fans and the public at large throughout the entire process, and Wendy Andersons memory continues to do so. The Red Wolves went on to win that game 43-17 in a joyful affair.

The Lamar Jackson Award For Being Awesome:Lamar Jackson, Baltimore Ravens

Previous Winners: Lamar Jackson, Louisville (2016, 2017 & 2018)

On track to becoming the NFLs second youngest MVP ever, only behind Jim Brown, I’m pretty satisfied about making the case for Lamar Jackson to be the first quarterback taken in the 2018 NFL Draft, early in the 2017 season. Hes also still the best college football player of all time. Not bad for a running back.
