It’s a story that keeps writing itself week after week.

It’s a story that keeps writing itself week after week. Wofford wins again in heart-stopping fashion.  The Terriers came from behind to beat The Citadel 20-16 Saturday night at Johnson-Hagood Stadium. With Andre Stoddard scoring from 3 yards out with 1:10 left in the game the Terriers have now won 5 games by a total of 16 points. Winning close games is nothing new for this bunch of Terriers but winning through the air is a new approach.

Wofford finished the game with 318 total yards, 219 of those yards coming in the air, the first time since 2015 the Terriers have won a game in which they gained more yards passing than rushing. 2015 was also the last time the Terriers finished a game with less than 100 yards rushing in a game.

With the win Wofford remains undefeated in the SoCon and practically ends The Citadel’s chances to win a 3rd straight league title. The Bulldogs 26 straight weeks being ranked in the FCS top 25 poll is in jeopardy as well after their third straight loss of the season.

Terrier Quarterback Brandon Goodson finished the night 11 of 17 with 219 yards and a touchdown. Wofford entered the game averaging just 110.2 passing yards per game. The Terriers only rushed for 99 yards after averaging 296 yards per game on the ground prior to the game.

The Citadel entered the game averaging 307 rushing yards per game finished with 226 on the ground in the loss. The Bulldogs were led by quarterback Jordan Black with 13 carries for 55 yards. The Bulldogs travel to Chattanooga next week while Wofford returns home to take on Samford in a game that can practically wrap up the SoCon title for the Terriers with a win.
