Dating back over two years, the Mountaineers have now won 16 of their last 17 league games.

After an impressive 37-19 win over Idaho on Saturday, the Mountaineers moved to 3-0 in Sun Belt Conference play, joining Arkansas State and Troy as the only undefeated teams in the league entering the final week of October. Success in-conference is nothing new for Appalachian State; dating back over two years, the Mountaineers have now won 16 of their last 17 league games.

Quarterback Taylor Lamb completed 18-of-23 passes, running back Jalin Moore rushed for 114 yards and defensive back Clifton Duck recorded two interceptions, returning one for a touchdown, in Appalachian State's 18-point Homecoming triumph over the Vandals. The Mountaineers were effective and efficient as they got off to a strong first quarter start and never looked back. It was the program's fourth consecutive win and ninth straight victory against group of five competition.

In a trio of contests against conference foes this fall, the Mountaineers have outscored their opponents 78-22, with only Idaho reaching the endzone; the Vandals scored their touchdown with four seconds remaining.

The Mountaineers, moving forward, will play at rival Georgia Southern this Thursday on ESPNU in a showdown that has a chance to be one of the Sun Belt games of the year. Appalachian State has won four of five in the series.

Late in the season The Mountaineers are In position for a run at a title once again. The leaves change in Boone, North Carolina; the results apparently don't.
