Lewis' passer rating for the month of November is now at 187.7, good for third nationally for quarterbacks with at least 45 attempts.

Clearly, Louisiana, featuring the remarkable trio of Elijah Mitchell, Trey Ragas and Raymond Calais, has one of the best ground games in all of college football. The trio has combined for 1,947 yards and 24 touchdowns, helping the Ragin' Cajuns rank in the top five nationally in rushing and, as the favorites in the Sun Belt West, stand at 7-2 entering mid-November. The progression and play of quarterback Levi Lewis has also been key. Louisiana's number one has settled into a leading role.

To date, Lewis, in his first full season as starter, ranks second in the league with an overall passer rating of 152.49. He leads the conference with a 67% completion percentage, has the best touchdown-to-interception ratio at 14-to-3 and slots second at eight yards per pass attempt. Emerging from a complementary reserve role a year ago after starting three games as a freshman, Levis has helped the Ragin' Cajuns continue their overall rise.

Lewis, as a testament to his efficiency, is only the second Sun Belt quarterback ever with at least 14 touchdown passes and no more than three interceptions nine games into a season.

In total, the end result of Lewis and all of the talent and experience on offense has been quite significant. Louisiana leads the league with 38.3 points per game, a figure which would be the highest margin in the conference since 2015. The Ragin' Cajuns rank in the top ten nationally in total offense, averaging 499.2 yards per game, set, if current trends continue, to be a new Sun Belt record; for point of reference, Alabama is averaging 510.4. Louisiana, additionally, ranks seventh in the country with 25.7 first downs per game.

Recently, Lewis has taken his game to an even higher level, with last week, a statement 48-7 win at Coastal Carolina, serving as the signature performance of his career. Lewis completed 26-of-30 passes for 296 yards and three scores in the victory. Since mid-September, he has eleven touchdown passes compared to just one interception. Lewis' passer rating for the month of November is now at 187.7, good for third nationally for quarterbacks with at least 45 attempts.

Notably, Lewis' further development is a big reason why the Ragin' Cajuns, winners of seven of eight, are peaking entering the postseason.

Under head coach Billy Napier, Louisiana is winning with a specific style, a brand in which Lewis plays a big part. For good measure, he, joining the acclaimed and aforementioned backfield big three, has three rushing touchdowns himself. A savvy veteran who has worked his way into his current opportunity, Lewis adds to all that the Ragin Cajuns' are doing, trends which include chasing a title.

Levis is a playmaker, a winner and a leader for a team with a championship conviction. He and Louisiana are improving and impressing alike.
