Ranking the top teams in the ACC, SEC and Sun Belt.

Ranking ACC, SEC and Sun Belt teams, the Bud Light Southern Power Poll is voted on by B.J. Bennett, Christian Goeckel, Kevin Thomas, Ben Troupe and P.J. Zucco.

Bud Light Southern Power Poll

1. Alabama
The expectations don’t change in Tuscaloosa and the projection for the defending national champion is more of the same. Tackle Evan Neal sets the tone up front. Edge Will Anderson leads a defense that could be the best in college football.

2. Clemson
Quarterback D.J. Uiagalelei is already a star. He and receiver Justyn Ross, now healthy, have unlimited big play potential. Yet again, the defensive line, led by tackle Bryan Bresee, is the overwhelming national standard.
Next: vs Georgia, September 4th (Charlotte)

3. Georgia
The hype around the Bulldogs is at a generational level. From quarterback J.T. Daniels to tackle Jordan Davis, there is talent and experience everywhere. Daniels, per some, is the pre-season Heisman Trophy favorite.
Next: vs Clemson, September 4th (Charlotte)

4. Texas A&M
After a season where the Aggies were the first team out of the College Football Playoff, Texas A&M is ready to contend again. Running back Isaiah Spiller and lineman DeMarvin Leal lead the offense and defense.

5. LSU
After an undefeated national championship season followed by a 5-5 year, the Tigers are expected to be much improved. There is talent and experience across the roster. Max Johnson steps in at quarterback.
Next: at UCLA, September 4th

6. North Carolina
In the national top ten of pre-season polls, the Tar Heels are one of the hottest programs in the country. Quarterback Sam Howell is one of the biggest stars in the game. All five starters return along the offensive line.
Next: at Virginia Tech, September 3rd

7. Florida
Though there is a lot of talent to replace, the Gators remain the defending division champions. There is a lot of excitement around quarterback Emory Jones. Kaiir Elam is a star defensively.
Next: vs Florida Atlantic, September 4th

8. Miami
A healthy D’Eriq King is one of the best quarterbacks in the game. There is returning production all over the field for a team that started last season 8-1. High expectations are on the way back on South Beach.

9. Coastal Carolina
A thrilling undefeated regular season made the Chanticleers one of the stories of the year in college football. The depth chart returns almost completely intact, led by star quarterback Grayson McCall.
Next: vs The Citadel, September 2nd

10. Louisiana
The Ragin’ Cajuns have become a national name, with their win at Iowa State last season coming with national attention. Quarterback Levi Lewis is a proven winner. This is a team that wins at the line of scrimmage.
Next: at Texas, September 4th

11. Ole Miss
Lane Kiffin’s offenses continue to score and score in bunches and star quarterback Matt Corral is one of the top signal callers in the game. Interestingly, the Rebels also led the SEC in rushing a year ago.
Next: vs Louisville, September 6th (Atlanta)

12. Auburn
Bryan Harsin comes in from Boise State with Mike Bobo as offensive coordinator and Derek Mason as defensive coordinator. Veteran quarterback Bo Nix is entering his third season as starter and running back Tank Bigsby is as good as it gets.
