Defensive Player of the Week:Latrell Gibbs, Appalachian State — one pass breakup, four tackles, and a 53-yard interception return for a touchdown

Special Teams Player of the Week:Brandon Smith, Texas State — four kickoff returns for 158 yards, including a 95-yard touchdown in 27-49 loss to Louisiana
