Arkansas State produced a dramatic 21-14 overtime victory over Utah State.

Sun Belt Offensive Player of the Week: Matt Breida, Georgia Southern – Breida carried the ball 21 times for 187 yards and two scores in the Eagles’ win over Southern Alabama. His performance helped give Georgia Southern its first ever conference victory in the Sun Belt.

Sun Belt Defensive Player of the Week: Joseph Peterson, Georgia State – Peterson recorded 14 tackles and two sacks, as Georgia State gave Washington a bit of a scare. His tackles for loss totaled 13 yards.

Sun Belt Special Teams Player of the Week: Will Johnson, Texas State – Johnson was called into action frequently on Saturday, punting eight times for the Bobcats. He averaged 47.5 yards per punt, including a booming 70-yard effort.

Sun Belt Coach of the Week: Blake Anderson, Arkansas State – Coming off of back-to-back losses, Anderson was able to keep his team composed despite the fact that it committed four turnovers. The Red Wolves ultimately topped a talented Utah State team in overtime.

Sun Belt X-Factor of the Week: Joel Ross, Appalachian State – Ross intercepted a pair of passes in App State’s gut-wrenching 21-20 loss to Southern Miss. The senior has emerged as a leader for the Mountaineers defense.
