Joey Jones helped South Alabama bounce back with a 34-10 win over Idaho.

Sun Belt Offensive Player of the Week: Kevin Ellison, Georgia Southern – Playing in a nationally-televised rivalry game on Thursday night, Ellison rushed for 151 yards, threw for 73 yards and accounted for two touchdowns.

Sun Belt Defensive Player of the Week: David Mayo, Texas State – Mayo was a tackling machine for he Bobcats, registering 20 stops in Texas State’s overtime win against Tulsa.

Sun Belt Special Teams Player of the Week: Justin Manton, Louisiana-Monroe – Manton was a perfect 3-3 on field goal attempts, including hitting the game-winner with two minutes remaining. He also punted six times for an average of 48.3 yards.

Sun Belt Coach of the Week: Joey Jones, South Alabama – The Jaguars bounced back from a disappointing performance against Georgia Southern to pick up a much-needed 34-10 victory over Idaho.

Sun Belt X-Factor of the Week: Brandon Silvers, Troy – Silvers has had some expected struggles as a freshman quarterback, but he played well against ULM, throwing for 270 yards, three touchdowns and no picks.
