Arkansas State cruised to another blowout victory on Saturday.

Louisiana-Monroe at Kentucky:

Louisiana-Monroe put some fear in the eyes of Kentucky fans on Saturday. The Warhawks scored two first quarter touchdowns to put them up 14-3 at the end of the first quarter. That lead didn’t last long, though. Kentucky then went on to score 45 unanswered points to win the game in blowout fashion. Kentucky quarterback Patrick Towles threw for 216 yards and three touchdowns in the win. Kentucky is 5-1 overall, and 5-0 at home. This is the first successful season for the Wildcats in a long time, and one more win makes them bowl eligible.

Score: 48-14 Kentucky

Arkansas State at Georgia State:

This was another blowout win in the Sun Belt Conference. Arkansas State jumped out to an early lead, scoring 24 points in the first quarter. The halftime score was 31-3 in favor of the Red Wolves.  It was a good day for the Arkansas State backfield, where quarterback Fredi Knighten threw for 215 yards and three touchdowns, and running back Michael Gordon rushed for 188 yards and two touchdowns. Georgia State suffered through its worst offensive performance of the season, as star quarterback Nick Arbuckle threw for only 162 yards. Georgia State seems to be getting progressively worse, and the 1-5 Panthers need to turn something around soon or they won't win another game this season.

Score: 52-10 Arkansas State

New Mexico State at Troy:

This was a matchup between two struggling Sun Belt teams, and it didn’t quite go as expected. Troy seemed to dominate New Mexico State in all aspects of the game. Trojan running back Brandon Burks rushed for 176 yards on only ten carries. New Mexico State just didn’t seem to have an answer for a Troy offense that gained 571 yards of total offense on Saturday. For the Aggies, quarterback Tyler Rogers still managed to throw for 272 yards and two touchdowns in the loss. The rest of the team just needs to show up next week.

Score: 41-24 Troy

Liberty at Appalachian State:

This matchup was a high-scoring offensive battle between two relatively weak teams. This was a game that Appalachian State should have won against a weaker Big South team. Appalachian State quarterback Taylor Lamb still preformed well and threw for 397 yards and three touchdowns in the loss. Liberty’s star player was running back D.J. Abnar, who rushed for 129 yards and two touchdowns. This is a disappointing loss for Appalachian State, and also for the Sun Belt Conference in general.

Score: 55-48 Liberty

Idaho at Georgia Southern:

Georgia Southern put together yet another impressive win on Saturday. The Eagles took down Idaho in blowout fashion. The option offense once again produced over 500 total yards, and Kevin Ellison and Matt Breida had another amazing game. Ellison rushed for two touchdowns and threw for one on Saturday, while teammate running back Breida rushed for 155 yards. Idaho’s star quarterback, Matt Linehan, threw for 230 yards, but failed to throw for any touchdowns. There wasn’t really any chance for Idaho to pull out an upset at any point of this game. Georgia Southern seemed to dominate in every aspect. The Eagles seem to be getting better and better, and Idaho just seems to be getting worse.

Score: 47-24 Georgia Southern
