This fall was one for the record books for the Trojans.

With a 50-30 triumph over North Texas in the New Orleans Bowl, Troy set a new FBS program record with a single-season best eleven wins. The Trojans finish the year on a seven-game winning streak, arguably saving their best performance for last. Troy outgained the Mean Green by nearly 150 total yards, setting a new program postseason mark for points scored. At 11-2, this Trojan team will long be remembered for a fall full of memories.

Troy jumped out early in New Orleans on two Josh Anderson touchdown runs and never looked back. A decisive third quarter, one where the Trojans outscored North Texas 21-3, proved to be the determining difference. As was the case for much of the season, Troy ended the game in complete control. The Trojans have now won three-straight bowl games dating back to 2010.

Fresh off a third-ever New Orleans Bowl triumph, Troy continues to raise the bar. In addition to their postseason showing, the Trojans won at nationally-ranked LSU back in September and claimed a sixth Sun Belt Championship with a dramatic victory at Arkansas State to finish November. Troy will be one of, at absolute most, 14 FBS teams to finish the year with at least eleven wins.

Saturday was a fitting send-off for senior quarterback Brandon Silvers, who earned game MVP honors with 306 passing yards and four touchdowns, adding a rushing score and a two-point conversion. In all, Silvers was responsible for 32 total points. Fittingly, the final pass of his college career was a 10-yard touchdown toss to game standout Damion Willis. Silvers, overall, went 69-of-102 for 932 yards, with ten touchdowns and just one interception, in his last three games.

Still just 37 years old, head coach Neal Brown has won 22 of his last 27 games with the Trojans, winning a pair of bowl games in that span. Also in that stretch is the aforementioned win in Death Valley this season and just a six-point loss to eventual national champion Clemson in 2016. Brown has Troy positioned as one of the top programs in group-of-five football.

This fall was one for the record books for the Trojans. A spot in history has been reserved.
