The Sun Belt’s top performers during week eight.

Offensive Player of the Week: Raymond Calais, Louisiana — Rushed for 144 yards and two touchdowns, including an 80-yard dash, on just 8 carries in the 37-20 win at Arkansas State.

Defensive Player of the Week: Will Sunderland, Troy — Tallied a pair of interceptions, one of which he returned for a score, in the Trojans’ 37-13 victory over South Alabama.

Special Teams Player of the Week: Sterling Johnson, Coastal Carolina — Aside from his defensive efforts, Johnson also blocked a Tyler Bass field goal try to keep Georgia Southern from taking a lead into halftime, although the Chanticleers would eventually fall to the Eagles 30-27 in overtime.

Coach of the Week: Eliah Drinkwitz, App State — Drinkwitz’s Mountaineers manhandled ULM to the tune of 52-7, staying in the driver’s seat in the race for a second consecutive Sun Belt title game appearance.

X-Factor of the Week: Dan Ellington, Georgia State — Completed 20/28 pass attempts for 232 yards and three touchdowns, including the game winner, to lead Georgia State past Army 28-21.
