Maryland quarterback C.J. Brown has been one of the early surprises in the conference.

ACC Offensive Player of the Week: Andre Williams, RB Boston College

Williams had a game-high 35 carries and a career-high 204 yards and a touchdown on the ground on the way to an important 24-10 conference victory over Wake Forest.  He finished the game averaging six yards a carry.

ACC Defensive Player of the Week: Denzel Perryman, LB Miami

Perryman was the leader of the Hurricanes defense against Florida and was instrumental in Miami’s ability to limit the Gators running game.  He had 13 total tackles, nine of which were credited as solo tackles.

ACC Special Teams Player of the Week:  Nicklas Sade, K N.C. State

Sade made three field goals for the Wolfpack, but none more important than his 48-yarder with under a minute to play in the game.  His kick completed an N.C. State comeback and spoiled any hopes the Richmond Spiders had of an upset.

ACC Coach of the Week:  Al Golden, Miami

Golden has kept the Hurricanes focused throughout the entire ongoing NCAA investigation and now has a big win over in-state rival Florida to help the program moving forward.  The results on the field are beginning to back up the patience he has exhibited throughout the entire process.

ACC X-Factor of the Week:  C.J. Brown, QB Maryland

Randy Edsall’s offense looks much more potent with a healthy quarterback at the helm, after experiencing an abundance of injuries at the position a season ago.  C.J. Brown leads the ACC after two weeks, completing 75.6 percent of his passes for 556 yards and five touchdowns.
