I normally would like to offer a rather acerbic comment but this is not the time.  I’ll just sit back and see how this discussion flows….

I am amazed no one has commented on this post?  Have we become that comfortable with this being the “new norm”?

I have a feeling the French are at a point where there have had enough of this and will start using more intense steps in dealing with this. May start seeing French citizens taking matters in our hand.

The US will be like this in 10-15 years if we don’t shut migration down from historical hot spots.

Also, this clear shows that we a desire to kill a lot of people is the goal, a way can be found that doesn’t go “Bang” or “Boom”

It’s just Fox News propaganda. France has a ban on assault weapons.

Yes.

Good.  The world needs to take this more seriously.

Still not convinced about this.  Europe and places like France, Germany, and the UK have LARGE populations of muslim immigrants.  It’s one of the biggest groups coming in, that and Indians.  Over here yes we get some immigration from those areas, but nothing compared to Europe.  Asia and South/Central America are still our main feeder areas here in the US.  Of course we are assuming terrorists will be naturally born of origin when in reality these days foreign born are just as common becoming radicalized online.  I just don’t think immigration is our main problem here, or will be anytime soon.

True.  As bad and horrific as these events are, you know what I’m relieved to see?  It’s not just American hate anymore.  Remember the days where it was JUST America being the enemy and being targeted?  Remember when travel as an American was more dangerous than traveling as some Euro?  Seems to be just as dangerous now for anyone.  While I don’t wish harm on these other countries, I’m glad the view of Americans being the worst has changed.  Was irrational to begin with, but I hated the stigma of being everyone’s enemy.

Can’t disagree there.  I’d love to wipe ISIS and those like them off the face of this planet.

This is just so sad of a story. The French do not step on any other nation. Their citizens express their thoughts and words because they can. My daughter’s boyfriend is headed to that area as an exchange student. She wants to go visit over winter break this coming semester at college. I had reservations, but something like this can throw an emotional wrench into the works. Just sad. I feel for those who have passed, their families and country. I feel for the Americans who were killed. This touches everyone.

Yes, just like mass shootings in this country. I did hear though that the NRA has already released a statement claiming that lives would have been saved if someone in the crowd also had a truck.

Apparently France has rules on that though just like they do on assault weapons. Socialists.
