The war isn’t just a waste of time, it is morally wrong and has kept huge populations that are disproportionally minority in poverty.

Could you expand on that?  I have always wanted to pick the brains of someone who is for the legalization of drugs.  All you talking literally everything?  I am talking Schedule 3 drugs, Meth, Crack, etc…When I hear someone say all drugs should be legal I want to know if they mean everything?  If this is the case I see this as a wildfire out of control.  If only the user were affected then they could burn themselves out for all I care but I see I lot of collateral damage coming from “everything goes”.  The drug cartels are already working their way into the Colorado Marijuana business from what I have been reading..Here is a recent story out of Denver for example:

http://www.thedenverchannel.com/news/local-news/marijuana/mexican-drug-cartels-are-taking-full-advantage-of-colorados-marijuana-laws

I think legalizing drugs just rings the dinner bell for organized crime to really dig in…

I realize we are not going to agree on this and I am not going to ague with you about it because I imagine we will be dug in on this.  But I am interested in your perspective.  For me, I’ll settle with as much containment of the fire as we can muster.

No, I said fantasyland. I live in the United States. The country that elected Obama twice and the one that is about to elect Hillary.

You seem to be more in line with the Russians so congrats on that. Doubt we will ever see the tax returns now so you will be able to pretend I’m wrong still…fortunately you will be on the losing side. Oh and reread that article…you don’t seem to understand things too well and rest assured I am only posting stuff from sources I used to think you might find credible. Now I guess unless it comes straight form the campaign it can’t be trusted.

Of course Fox News like George Will are just Deomcratic operatives right?
It was front page of the Charleston paper this morning. Liberal crap.

Can’t seem to make the memes post from my phone but check google…there are some funny ones for most of us. You may not think so though.

On phone and getting nasty looks from wife and kids so gotta be brief.

Things like meth and crack don’t exist in a legalized drug world. No need for cheap knockoffs for poor people when the real stuff is available.

Criminals are involved because it is illegal. See Capone and prohibition of alcohol.
Look up why weed and hemp was ever made illegal in the first place….truly an example of why we should be scared of tycoons running things.

I am for everything but reality says it will happen incrementally. Weed will go first.
In the future we will look back and wonder what all these stupid social wars were all about. Women, gays, abortion, drugs…Why you guys can’t see that is beyond me.

Let me share a personal story…On January 1st. 2015 I got sick and ended up in the emergency room with peritonitis and a bad Gall Bladder that had to be removed.  I went through the surgery fine and returned to work about 5 of 6 days after being realeased. (I should have taken more time)...They gave me this wonderful pain pill called Oxycodone.  Let me tell you, it makes you feel comfortably numb.  The Doctors were happy to refill my prescriptions.  What happened is when I was getting past the need to control the pain I found my self missing the drug and went back to the doctor and said that pain was still lingering and got another refill.  It was then I realized I was starting to become dependent on this drug and I have to tell you that if I didn’t have to jump through hoops to get this stuff I could have easily got hooked on this drug because it really makes you feel good.

Fortunately I had the discipline to walk away but I totally get how this stuff can hook people…and that is why I don’t think certain drugs should be available on demand.  We can debate on stuff like weed which I don’t get too worked up over but I will never be for legalizing all drugs…sorry

Yes, you are absolutely right which is all the more reason why you should be for legalization. No one is saying drugs are good. It is the criminalization of them that ruins people’s lives and funnels billions to terrorist and illegal cartels.

The wounds heal, the addiction can be treated but the felony never goes away, especially in poor minority communities.

Singapore seems to have a grasp on the problem:

In my case, because they weren’t easily accessible I didn’t have to be treated for addition because I could not stock my medicine cabinet full of that shit and get hooked thus avoiding the need for drug addiction treatment.  I get what you are saying, but this mob rules mentality is what keeps me from being more libertarian.

The thing is they are easily accessible. You just didn’t look. Ask yourself what is easier for a high schooler to get today around school…weed or alcohol. Then ask yourself which one is legal…

I have been to Singapore before…trust me you don’t want to live there. Rest assured there are still drugs, and addiction, and prostitution so on and so forth.

I’d like to propose a motion that both of our main candidates this election totally and unequivocally suck ass.  I just cannot on good conscience ever vote for Hilary.  I would vote a woman.  I would vote a democrat.  But I will never vote for Hilary.  Maybe Gary Johnson will just get my vote.

Sounds like a good plan.
