The Auburn Tigers are rallying on National Signing Day.

Late Tuesday night and early Wednesday morning have had a championship feel for Auburn, as the Tigers have pulled off a number of National Signing Day moves that will help them continue to compete in the years to come. Head coach Gus Malzahn, new defensive coordinator Will Muschamp and company have gotten good news as the 2015 recruiting season winds down.

Byron Cowart, the number one overall prospect per ESPN.com, chose Auburn over home-state Florida during his live television announcement. The Gulf Coast-native has a strong relationship with Muschamp, who Malzahn hired in mid-December. At 6’4”, 258 pounds, Cowart has the talent to be an impact player right away on the Plains.

The Tigers got a recent flip from Georgia-commit Darius Slayton, a versatile 6’1” talent from Norcross. Auburn also pulled 6’5”, 318-pound tackle Mike Horton, who had previously pledged to Florida, and former Ohio State-verbal Carlton Davis. Blue-chip linebacker Jeffrey Holland also selected the Tigers on National Signing Day. Malzahn went to the Peach State for Slayton and Horton and Florida for Davis and Holland.

Other top recruits include five-star running back Jovon Robinson, offensive lineman Tyler Carr, defensive end Prince Tega Wanogho, Jr. and linebacker Darrell Williams, the latter three all in-state prospects.

Now two years removed from a trip to the national title game, Auburn is finishing with a top-level recruiting class.  Late momentum has given the Tigers a major boost.
